Pastor’s Pen

I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. Even with the virus and political unrest going on, time has left me in the dust. As we move forward in closing out this very abnormal 2020, let us remember those who have gone to be with the Lord and be thankful they did not have to go through what the world is experiencing today health-wise and from a social standpoint. On November 1st we celebrated All Saint’s Day. We gave praise during the communion portion of the service to our God and King for the promise made to us by Christ’s death on the cross of an eternally joyous life that awaits all of us. With God there is always hope for the future. Thanksgiving time is nearly upon us and we need to be mindful of those who are struggling through life for whatever reason. Our Mission Team is collecting food and supplies for those in need. Please take some time to help with this extremely rewarding and worthwhile cause. Times for drop-offs are listed on the church website ( and will be announced each Sunday leading up to Thanksgiving Day. Unbelievably, Christmas is not far off either. Advent services begin the last Sunday of November. With the pandemic all around us, Christmas will truly be different this year for everyone. Again, there are those who have been struck harder this year and will be in great need. We will be collecting food and supplies for a few families again this year. I am sure we will be attempting to adopt a couple families this year for the Christmas season. Look for future announcements on what will be happening with that mission.

God bless you all in the name of Jesus Christ,

Pastor Mark
