Pastor’s Pen by Pastor Mark W. Lewis                        May/Jun 2021

Well, my dear, dear church family of Woodside, the time has come to bid you farewell. I was unsure whether to make this my last Letter to you or wait until the July issue. I decided to let Pastor Rich Walton have the pleasure of introducing himself in the next Newsletter. It is a lot easier to say “goodbye” in a letter than it will be June 27th. I have been honored to be your pastor for the past 6 years and I will always cherish the time at Woodside. I will never forget those that have gone to be with the Lord during my time here and the privilege in having been part of the lives and in their final farewells. I have truly enjoyed watching the “young children”, who aren’t so young anymore, grow into fine young people. I will always remember the Stick Ministry performances and the Christmas plays you were part of. Watching all of you grow in the graces of God and your loving relationship with the church has been more than heart-warming. Woodside United Methodist Church will always be my first church and the members will always be my first church family as a pastor. You all will have a special place in my heart, and since I won’t be too far away, I will do my best (under the regulations of the Methodist Church) to keep a distant eye on you all. Especially the kids. I wish them a bright and God-inspired future and continued success in whatever you do. Thank you to all the members who were part of the church committees and those that worked so hard to keep me straight.

I know Pastor Rich will lead you in doing great things and bringing you God’s word in amazing ways.

I will miss you all and I pray our paths cross in the future as God leads us in the spiritual journey He has laid out before us.

God bless you all in the name of Jesus Christ, Pastor Mark
