Pastor’s Pen

Thank God Spring is here and the COVID pandemic seems to be slowly easing its way out. Perhaps by Christmas things will be back to near normal. I hope everyone is making it through these difficult times and is staying safe and maintaining the requirements set forth by the government. Who ever thought it would have gone on this long? Certainly not me. Just keep praying for it to finally come to an end. We have entered the church season of Lent and as we give up things for Lent (fasting) let us start to prepare for the Easter season, a.k.a. Holy Week. No matter what the world throws at us (pandemic, freezing weather, social unrest, new government), we can always count on celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Nothing will ever stop that. Even if we must stay at home and celebrate it with our families. As of this moment we will be having a Maundy Thursday service and an Easter service. We will not be having a Good Friday service, but I encourage all of you to look for a live service at another church or at least find one online. Just as Christ rose again, so will the church, the country and world, rise again from the devastation of the pandemic. There will always be a sunrise in the morning, though it may be covered by clouds and rain, we can be assured that our God will make it happen and He will get us through whatever comes our way. Things to look for on the horizon will be the starting of Sunday School and an online Bible study which I am working on during my last semester of seminary. I also hope to have a New Members class sometime in the next few months. So, keep your eyes and ears open. God bless you all in the name of Jesus Christ, Pastor Mark
